What I Do

I enjoy both the practical aspects of pottery and the purely artistic.  For this reason I make both functional pieces (mostly high fire, but some low fire decorated pieces as well). I make Raku and pit fired pieces as well.

Raku and Pit Fired pieces do not hold water and are not for food presentation of any kind.  Raku can “bleach out” in direct sun so I keep my pieces in indirect sunlight to maintain their luster.

Sculpture is my new big thing.  I started last year in earnest after having taken a course with Claudio Reginato www.ceramics.it/reginato/index_en.html .    I worked at it off and on throughout the year and took the advanced course with him this spring.  The hindu god series came out of this experience and I am not yet done.
